Kelly Davidson Savage is a rock star photographer – literally. Sure, she shoots incredible commercial, portrait and lifestyle work BUT her claim to fame is Music. Kelly has shot anyone who’s anyone in the music industry. From local indie bands to the big big guys, she is the go-to shooter – even creating a series of books and exhibits of her photos of Rock n Roll parents.
Did I also mention she is the nicest, sweetest person you will ever meet, runs marathons and eats queso straight from the jar? Obviously, I couldn’t say no when she wanted to revamp her visual identity with a new logo – in fact, I believe I screamed YES.
Let the Logo Design Begin!
Once Kelly and I talked through her creative brief, we worked for the next few weeks on logo sketches, followed by a series of tweaky revisions. Kelly knew she wanted her initial incorporated into the logo, but certainly not in a stuffy, Victorian locket way. Something to reflect her boldness; something “I can tattoo on my body.” The end result is a great mosh of modern monogram and unassuming typography that let her unique images shine.
Kelly is already adding her watermarks to every image she puts online, and we can’t wait to get her business card printed. Think silver foil and edge painting – hot!
(All clients on alert: if and when Kelly Davidson gets her new logo tattooed on her body, the bar will be set.)
